If you follow the anime community by heart, then you already know that a great number of anime is released every day. Anime come and go, but only a few are able to reach great heights like Demon Slayer and Attack on Titan. But waiting for their new seasons is as hard as waiting for your delicious food after ordering. The difference is that it feels like an eternity waiting for an anime’s return.

So, why should you only stick to Demon Slayer and AOT when there are other anime series as great as the two of them? Both 2022 and 2023 have countless similar releases to keep you entertained while you wait for these masterpieces.

1. Chainsaw Man

Surprisingly, it hasn’t been long since the Chainsaw Man manga started its original run. First out in December 2018, it is currently running on its 11th volume. But its popularity matches that of great manga series running for a long time.

In December 2020, the anime adaptation of Chainsaw Man was greenlit, and now, it’s finally set for a release this year. The story of the anime is about a guy named Denji who makes contact with dog type devil named Pochita. With his new powers, Denji kills devils for Yakuza to pay off the debt of his father.

2. Mob Psycho 100

Mob, or you can say Saitama with hair, is coming back this year with the third season of Mob Psycho 100. The announcement of the anime’s return was made in October 2021. The popularity of the show is enough to keep the fans pumped up for the new season without much promotion. The director of the previous two seasons, Yuzuru Tachikawa, along with studio Bones, are returning for the third season.

Shigeo Kageyama is blessed with psychic powers and works as an assistant to Reigen Arataka to learn how to control his powers. Mob wishes to live a normal life, but he constantly gets into trouble. You can watch the previous seasons of Mob Psycho on Netflix.

3. Goblin Slayer

Goblin Slayer is one of the darkest anime series you could watch. That’s why it is immensely famous among the people who love to watch dark fantasy anime. With bloodshed, physical abuse, and torture, Kumo Kagyu, the writer of Goblin Slayer, has tried to make the anime as terrifying as possible. The announcement of the second season was made at the GA Fes 2021 event.

The story is set in a world where Goblins raid the towns and create havoc. A young priestess and her adventure party find themselves in trouble one day, but a Goblin Slayer saves their life.

4. Bleach

This anime doesn’t need any introduction at all. Even the people not much into anime know about Bleach. With more than 350 episodes running from 2004 to 2012, Bleach is one of the legendary names in the anime world. The final story arc, ‘Thousand-Year Blood War,’ got announced in March 2020, and the fans are eagerly waiting for its release. Pierrot studio will animate the upcoming anime, while Tomohisa Taguchi is the director and writer of the final arc.

Bleach is the story of Ichigo Kurosaki, who gains the Soul Reaper powers and uses them to save the world from Hollows.

5. Vinland Saga

Inspired by real-life historical events, Vinland Saga is a great name in the anime world. The manga of Vinland Saga is currently running on its 26th volume, first started in April 2005. The first season of the series comprises only 24 episodes, but it’s definitely worth watching. In July 2021, Twin Engine confirmed that the series would get a second season.

The show will take you back to the 11th century, at the time of England’s invasion by the Vikings. The main character Thorfinn is up for revenge against those behind his father’s death.

6. Tokyo Revengers

With its ongoing weekly manga chapters, Tokyo Revengers is maintaining its fanbase while season one of the series concluded in September 2021. Three months after the first season was finalized, the second season of Tokyo Revengers was greenlit.

The upcoming season will bring the ‘Christmas Showdown Arc’ where we will see Hakkai and Taiju standing against each other. Hakkai wants to do this alone, but the gang will step up to help him no matter what.

7. Fairy Tail: 100 Years Quest

Here’s another great upcoming anime project at par with Demon Slayer and AOT. 100 Years Quest is a spin-off of the famous Japanese manga Fairy Tail. Unlike the original series, 100 Years Quest hasn’t got any anime adaptation yet, but it will be soon released as it got an official announcement in a live stream on September 2021.

The show will follow the story of Natsu Dragneel and his team from the wizard guild, who are trying to complete a century-old mission. Not much information is out regarding the director, studio, episode count, or other relevant details.

8. Jujutsu Kaisen

Great story, top-notch animation, swaying music, and whatnot Jujutsu Kaisen season one offers us. That’s the reason why fans consider JJK as one of the best anime shows so far. The first season ended on March 2021, and there couldn’t be anything else fans could be waiting for more.

There’s no confirmation about the story of season two yet, but it will most likely follow the ‘Shibuya Incident Arc.’ It means the story will focus on Yuji and his team, who will fight the evil curses to take them down.
